The eccentric and eclectic Kodie Butterfield, from Red Oak, Iowa, will be bringing her energy and insight to the Banner News this spring. Kodie is majoring in education, more specifically math and plans on transferring to Lipscomb College in Tennessee. When asked about her philosophy on life she stated, “Easiest way to get through the day is keep your smile on your face.” She excitingly spoke of her plans when she gets older, “I would like to have a ranch for problem kids and utilize animals for therapy.” She hopes her contribution; “exposes people to new ideas and present the students with opportunities on campus.” When asked why she decided to work for the paper she commented, “I was guilted into it.” Her favorite part of the paper is the comics because, “it helps her laugh.” If she was stranded on a deserted island and could have three items she choose a good book, her IPod, and a pencil.
